ANALYSIS
Yasubey Enomoto is a very talented Swiss fighter training out of his own gym (along with his brother) the Enomoto Dojo. Of Japanese and Peruvian decent, Enomoto is a decorated muay thai striker who’s continued making significant strides in his ground game. Enomoto is a multiple time Sengoku fight veteran who already holds stoppages of Kenta Takagi aswell as former Pancrase Light Heavyweight Champion and 2001 ADCC Submission Wrestling Champion Sanae Kikuta.

Enomoto is an extremely fluid striker who has pro thai boxing experience under his belt. A former IKBO World Thaiboxing Champion, Enomoto’s standup game features an excellent combination of speed, technique and precision. Enomoto showcases beautiful movement and footwork, and has a very rich assortment of tools at his disposal standing. He’s armed with a deadly kicking game - quickly turning his hips showing snapping front, low and high kicks as well as stinging kicks to the body. Enomoto is also equipped with very good hands including an impressive jab, which in turn sets up his right cross very nicely. He also shows an effective lead left hook, good hand speed, demonstrates strong counter punching abilities and solid clinch skills. An intelligent, technical striker, Enomoto also exhibits good head movement and sound defensive awareness. He uses his footwork and reach to establish a good range, and mixes up his kicks and punches in an extremely effective manner. A good example of Yasubey Enomoto’s striking pedigree was displayed during his bout with Sanae Kikuta, whom he picked apart with a very technically precise attack.

Although Enomoto’s primarily recognized for standup, his BJJ has continued to develop to the point where he actually feels it’s the strongest aspect of his game. A multiple time Swiss and German BJJ and Grappling Champion, Enomoto is always of aware of the submission – even when the fight is taking place on the feet. He snaps his submissions on instantaneously and is very capable of finishing on the mat. Enomoto displays quick hips, works well off his back and shows tremendous potential in his guard and overall jiu jitsu abilities. Although Enomoto will need to continue proving his wrestling abilities (especially if he comes to North America), he has demonstrated a good sprawl while also showing he can take his opponent to the mat. Yasubey possesses a strong ground and pound attack, using his reach to cut through his opponent’s guard and land accurately with his punches and hammer fists. He also throws big elbows from the top and does present versatility in his grappling abilities.
OUTLOOK
Yasubey Enomoto is the top Swiss prospect in MMA today. Already a very confident striker who shows diversity and strong technical proficiency on his feet, Enomoto’s also continued developing nicely in the grappling department. He’s slowly worked his way up to prominent MMA organizations where he has solidified his reputation by stopping notable opposition. While he still has much to prove on the big stage, Enomoto’s talent level is undeniable and he certainly has a legitimate shot at developing into an impact top ten welterweight.
