ANALYSIS
A very tough, hardnosed and gritty bantamweight, Will Campuzano is a fighter plain and simple. Cut from the same mould as a Nick Diaz, Campuzano loves pushing a very high pace and banging out on the feet, and always looks to finish his fights as impressively and quickly as possible.
Campuzano's primary strength and first preference is to keep the fight standing and settle the fight using his fists. He's tremendously tough, doesn't wilt under pressure or shy away from being hit, and truly loves standing and trading on his feet. A tall, lanky bantamweight, Campuzano shows versatility in his striking (he absolutely unloaded on Jackson's Submission Fighting product Coty Wheeler with a versatile striking attack) as he incorporates a lot of movement into his standup while mixing it up with his leg kicks, knees and punches. Very light and comfortable on his feet, Campuzano is an aggressive striker who likes setting the pace of the bout. He's blessed with good reach and hand speed, makes effective use of his jab, and shows confidence in letting his hands go. Campuzano has a crisp, accurate straight right and shows good counter punching abilities and a nice counter right cross. A very exciting striker, Campuzano unleashes flying knees with ridiculous frequency and excellent quickness and precision (see bout with Wheeler). He's armed with very good high kicks, strong leg kicks, and shown a powerful clinch game and the ability to explode with powerful knees from in close. Defensively, while he isn't averse to standing in front of his opponents and throwing, he does use his footwork and reach to keep good distance on his feet. Overall, Campuzano's willingness and attitude on his feet is excellent, and the tools are in place for him to develop into a very exciting bantamweight striker for years to come.
Campuzano shows good takedown defense, but he's not a wrestler and is susceptible to being taken down. He uses the butterfly guard effectively, remains active off his back and is constantly working for sweeps, submissions, and at trying to get the fight back on the feet. A competent BJJ player, Campuzano is a very quick, slick and shifty grappler who transitions well between positions on the mat. While Campuzano might not have a remarkable takedown game, he has shown excellent ground and pound abilities when he's able to attain top position. He has very long arms and is able to cut through his opponents' defences with quick, accurate punches. If he's given time, he very capable of unleashing a ferociously persistent barrage of punches, elbows and hammer fists. Going forward Campuzano will need to continue focusing on his technical ground skills (BJJ, wrestling, submissions), as his progression in those areas will likely play a very large role in what he's able to achieve long-term in the sport.

OUTLOOK
Will Campuzano is a very tough, exciting fighter whose mental fortitude and willingness to battle aren't even questionable. His striking repertoire is quite diverse and given his age there's still room for further refinement. The "X" factor in his arsenal is his grappling and ground game. He'll need to continue working on his ground skills, while paying special attention to his wrestling and takedown defense. If however he's able to continue making progress in those areas of his game, he has an excellent chance of developing into a top ten bantamweight.
