ANALYSIS
Viktor Nemkov is a rising Russian prospect who currently competes in the light heavyweight division. Nemkov is a good athlete who possesses good speed, strength and quickness and currently trains alongside Fedor Emelianenko at the Red Devil Sports Club.
Nemkov enters the sport as a fairly accomplished Combat Sambo fighter (including a bronze medal finish at the Russian Nationals in 2008), and that base plays an integral role in shaping his MMA game. He does look to take the fight to the ground with one of the biggest strengths in his arsenal being his wrestling abilities and takedown prowess. He's deceptively strong, possesses good balance and a powerful grip, and is able to drag his opponents to the mat with strong takedowns. Nemkov is quick with his attempts - needing only a slight opening to try and secure one, and also has a diverse repertoire of takedowns at his disposal including judo throws, slams, and conventional single and double legs. On the ground his submission/ground skills are still raw but do show potential. Given his long legs he's dangerous with triangle attempts, and he does show potential in looking for submission opportunities (see his creative armbar attempt from Lopez's back) although he will need to get better at finishing and recognizing submission attempts defensively. Nemkov also shows strong ground and pound potential proving capable of delivering quick strikes from the top, but will need to work on his guard game as for the most part he's still not very comfortable fighting off his back.
Nemkov's standup isn't overpowering, but his technical skills continue to progress nicely and he has shown promise in a variety of areas in his striking game. He moves around well on his feet and does a good job of maintaining distance, shows good head movement and counter striking abilities, and his stance and much of his striking tendencies bear a resemblance to heavyweight legend Fedor Emelianenko. Nemkov mixes up his punches and kicks, shows patience in his standup and is equipped with fast hands, but his overall striking game remains green and will need more polish. As a light heavyweight it's a little concerning that he hasn't shown much power in his striking, but given his age and experience there remains considerable room for improvement and his progress thus far is not discouraging.

OUTLOOK
Viktor Nemkov shows potential in a variety of areas of his MMA game but still lacks polish and seasoning. Although he's raw, Nemkov is a good athlete who trains with one of the greatest fighters in the sport and is definitely one of the best prospects at Red Devil and in the M-1 organization. He's a work in progress, but with more training and experience Nemkov has a chance to progress into a top twenty light heavyweight.
