Todd Duffee is a talented up and coming heavyweight currently signed to the UFC. Duffee had only one amateur loss before turning pro (due to breaking his hand on his opponents head) and currently sports a perfect 5-0 professional record that includes a victory over former Pride FC and UFC veteran Assuerio Silva (see below). At 6'3" and a shredded 260 pounds, Duffee is big, strong heavyweight who's reportedly had to cut weight in the past to make 265 pounds, and definitely has legitimate size for the division. With his size, strength, and athleticism, Duffee has the raw physical tools necessary to succeed in the sport. On his feet Duffee is quick and agile for a big man, and displays heavy hands, makes effective use of powerful leg kicks and is a very aggressive fighter who is always pushing forward - looking to clinch, box in close or attempt a takedown. Duffee has shown considerable improvement as he's gained experience, but at times will come in with his chin up and tends to load up for big punches, getting wild with his striking and in the process leaving himself open for a counter. Although Duffee will need to further refine his technical skills on the feet, he displays the natural tools necessary in order to develop into top notch heavyweight striker. He showcased those abilities when making his UFC debut, as he scored a seven second knockout of Tim Hague - the fastest KO in UFC history. Duffee has been able to use his size and strength to bully people around and has shown decent takedowns from the clinch and an aggressive, and at times vicious ground and pound game (see bout with Hague), but he did not have any background in any grappling discipline before entering mixed martial arts and his ground game (wrestling, BJJ and submission) is still very green and remains largely untested. A very naturally gifted athlete, Duffee at 24 years of age shows a lot of promise in the division but has work to do in all aspects of his game. To help him in that regard he is training with one of the premier camps in the world in Xtreme Couture (after previously training at American Top Team), whose world class instructors and training partners should be able to make the most of his vast potential.
