ANALYSIS
A veteran of the British fight circuit and the Ultimate Warrior Challenge, Stav Economou is a heavyweight prospect best known for his unorthodox and exciting brand of fighting. Economou is very tough and never backs down, and his aggressive style and never quit attitude has quickly made him a fan favourite fighting in Europe.
While he definitely isn't afraid to stand and bang, Economou does show a preference in taking the fight to the ground and fighting from top position. Economou doesn't blow through opponents with takedowns and isn't the strongest technical wrestler, but he can get the fight to the ground by working very hard and always pressing forward. Once he has his opponents on the ground Economou wastes little time in going to work and looks to deliver an aggressive barrage of elbows and punches. Given his aggressive approach, he does put himself in danger and has been put on his back and put in trouble in past fights (see bouts with Rasmussen and Vemola below). Economou is much more comfortable fighting from the top and will need to get better at fighting off his back, and that area of his game was exploited in the first professional loss of his career against Karlos Vemola. Furthermore Economou's wrestling and takedowns have worked well early in his career, but he's yet to face a good wrestler. His overall wrestling abilities would not match up well against the better wrestler in the division and he would need to make considerable strides in that regard for him to have any chance of getting any of the better heavyweights in the world to the ground.
Economou is a heart and soul kind of fighter who never quits, is constantly pressing the action, and doesn't waste any time in always pushing forward and looking to make things happen. More than willing to stand in the pocket and trade haymakers, Economou is blessed with a granite chin and simply walks through punches unfazed and almost never seems to be moving backwards. Surprisingly nimble for a man his size, Economou moves well on his feet and has a good left hook and powerful right cross but has to be considered more of a brawler then a technician standing. Always an exciting fighter to watch, Economou does look to finish and has finished the vast majority of his fights via KO/TKO.

OUTLOOK
Stav Economou is an exciting fighter but might simply not be as naturally talented as the elite heavyweights in the world. Economou relies heavily on his ground and pound abilities, but frankly does not have the high calibre wrestling game that a fighter would need to compliment those skills. At twenty four years of age Economou is not done developing and is a likable fighter with an exciting style - he has top twenty five potential at heavyweight.
