ANALYSIS
Spencer Paige is a Cage Fury, Full Force, Northeast MMA, and TUF 12 veteran who has competed in both the featherweight and lightweight divisions. He currently trains out of Central New York MMA where he’s become noted fro his scrappy, never give in attitude. A natural athlete with good talent, Paige does have the potential to develop into a consistent performer in the lightweight division.
Paige shows a lot of heart and toughness every time he competes. He doesn’t quit, is very capable of taking a punch and always fights till the end of the bout. Coming from a striking background, Paige shows a lot of promise in his standup game. His speed and quickness is impressive, as well as the overall movement and fluidity to his striking. Paige is very smooth on his feet, shows excellent head movement and footwork. An offensive minded fighter, he possesses good power in his kicking game, proving capable of delivering heavy body blows and snapping leg kicks. Paige utilizes a short lead right hook effectively, and a very quick straight left – usually in combination with his hook. Versatile in his attack, Paige incorporates a variety of spinning back kicks, back fists and flying knees into his striking arsenal. Occasionally Paige will leave himself open to the body and can be backed into the cage and punished.
Paige gets his hips low on takedown attempts displaying a solid sprawl. He looks to rain in heavy blows from the top (very good at going to the body) and possesses an aggressive ground and pound game overall. Paige’s main weakness is his guard game as he can be controlled on his back. He hangs in defensively, continuously working even through a heavy ground and pound attack and deeply sunk submission attempts (see TUF bout with Nam Phan). He’s a very scrappy competitor who looks to land upkicks without backing down. Paige isn’t an offensive threat off his back and will need to continue focusing on BJJ and guard.

OUTLOOK
Spencer Paige truly is a fighter. His mentality and attitude is top notch, and he’s a talented athlete who’s show a lot of promise in his standup. Although there are areas of his game that require work, Paige is young enough that he can plug those holes. With work, he’s a potential top fifteen lightweight.
