Shamar Bailey is an athletically gifted fighter training out of Indianapolis as part of the Integrated Fighting team. A very spiritual person, Bailey is a devout Born Again Christian and firefighter whose interests and passions go well beyond the cage. Bailey comes from a wrestling background, and that base combined with his natural athletic abilities do make for an intriguing prospect in the welterweight division.

Bailey's a talented wrestler who quickly acclimated himself to the mat game. Despite the fact Bailey only began wrestling during his senior year of high school; he wound up going 32-1 and quickly established himself as a naturally gifted wrestler. After high school Bailey would embark on a collegiate career, eventually wrestling for four years at NCAA Division III School Maranatha Baptist Bible College. There he would continue his progression, becoming the first athlete in the school's history to reach the NCAA Division III Tournament . A naturally gifted athlete, Bailey has an excellent shot, driving through opponents with powerful takedowns. He's capable of getting the fight to the ground with a good double leg and powerful slams as well as showing quick hips, great balance and good takedown defense. Bailey's at his best from top position where he controls his opponent well and displays powerful ground and pound capabilities. He's shown the ability to posture up and rain in a quick attack of fast, powerful punches. He also uses his knees creatively, diligently works from the crucifix from side mount, and overall displays exciting potential in his ground and pound game. Still considerably more comfortable fighting from top position, Bailey will need to put work into guard game, BJJ and submission skills which are still green and lagging behind his wrestling/top game.

Bailey is an athletic fighter who's quick on his feet. He incorporates a lot of movement into his standup, and will attempt to work his jab and straight left. Still green, Bailey will need to continue working on his technical skills. He's a little stiff with his striking, and will need to expand his arsenal as at times he has a tendency to get predictable on his feet. Defensively, Bailey gets caught reaching with his punches and will need to shore up his abilities. Bailey will also need to get better at measuring distance with his striking. He tends to strike from too far, defend from too close and gets caught in his opponents striking range with frequency. His bout with Justin Wilcox highlighted some of the deficiencies in his standup, as Bailey was picked apart by a right cross and high kick that Wilcox landed nearly at will. Bailey is a good athlete and the raw potential is there for him to develop into a competent striking, but attention will need to be paid to his technical game.
