Highly regarded on the European circuit, Sergej Grecicho is a Vale Tudo Lithuania prospect who comes from a very strong sambo background. Among his credentials, Grecicho is a two-time Gold Medalist at the World Sambo Championships (2007, 2009), Bronze Medalist at the 2008 Games, and two-time winner at the FILA Pankration Championships (2006, 2009). Early in his career Grecicho’s become noted for his quickness, submission game, and mat savvy.

Grecicho is armed with an extremely slick grappling game. He’s certainly at his best on the ground, and therefore is very aggressive in attempting to take his opponent down. Grecicho possesses a good double leg and a nifty assortment of throws and trips from the clinch. A versatile ground fighter, Grecicho will readily go to his back where he’s armed with a fantastic guard game. He’s a very diligent worker who showcases an excellent submission game; especially with triangles, kneebars and footlocks. Grecicho’s submission awareness is fantastic and he cycles beautifully between his attempts and sweeps (including a lightening quick kimura, armbar, triangle sequence against Ville Yrjola).

Showing promise in his kicking game, Grecicho is able to quickly deliver his kicks to the legs, body, and head of opponents. Although he holds tremendous upside as an MMA grappler, Grecicho needs to be careful not to become one dimensional and will need to continue working on his standup.
