ANALYSIS
Ricardo Tirloni is a talented lightweight prospect competing out of the Ataque Duplo camp. A prototypical Brazilian stylist, Tirloni possesses a BJJ black belt and dangerous muay thai skills. He’s a true finisher who aggressively pursues opponents and almost always puts on an exciting performance. Early in his fighting career, Tirloni has spent time with a couple of respectable camps (Ataque Duplo and ATT), turned in a dominating performance against UFC veteran Brian Cobb, and fought very competitively with former WEC Champion Ben Henderson.

Tirloni possesses strong technical mat skills. He’s a BJJ black belt who’s extremely comfortable competing on the ground, where he possesses a very aggressive submission game. His arsenal consists of dangerous front chokes (guillotines, anaconda, brabo etc.), and slick transitions/sweeps from both top and bottom position. Although his wrestling has yet to be fully tested, Tirloni has demonstrated a decent sprawl, and shown that his ability to lock in chokes quickly does well in thwarting opposition takedown attempts. In addition to his strong guard work and dangerous top game, Tirloni is an aggressive ground and pounder who has the potential to be a complete MMA grappler.

A talented, aggressive striker, Tirloni is a finisher with a killer instinct. He moves quickly on his feet, throws frequent, powerful low kicks, and heavy bombs with his hands. Equipped with considerable knockout power, Tirloni is a dangerous clinch striker capable of teeing off with nasty knees from the thai plum. Given his aggressive nature, Tirloni does leave himself open to counters and will need to tighten up his defense. Squaring off against Ben Henderson in only his third professional fight, Tirloni was getting the better of his opponent for the majority of the bout before being caught in a fight ending guillotine choke.
OUTLOOK
A true fighter, Ricardo Tirloni is a versatile lightweight who always looks to finish. He’s compiled a solid record early in his career, showing black belt level submission skills and knockout potential in his striking. Although wrestling will play a large role his development, Tirloni has proven to be a multi- talented lightweight with top fifteen upside.
