ANALYSIS
Rafal Moks is a Polish middleweight prospect. Part of the Berserkers Fight Team, Moks is an M-1 competitor who was a middleweight finalist in the 2010 M-1 Global Challenge. He was also the 2010 M- 1 Selection Western European Tournament Winner in the middleweight division, and has progressed at a steady rate over the course of his career.
Moks is blessed with a compact, powerful physique and quick instincts. As a wrestler, Moks looks to time his opponent’s striking so he can counter with his takedown attempts. He will need to continue working on his wrestling (offensive and defensive) although he has shown potential in his Greco-Roman abilities with some good upperbody throws/trips early in his career (see bout with Danijel Dzebic). Moks attempts to pass from the top, favouring side control where he looks to pin his opponents arm down and work his striking. Although Moks’ guard will require work, he’s clearly most comfortable taking the fight to the ground and will pull guard to do so. He has a good guillotine and frequently looks for leg locks off his back, using those attempts intelligently in attempting to sweep his opponent and gain top position. Going forward Moks will need to work on controlling his opponent from the bottom, as well as learning to defend against opposition’s ground and pound.
Although Moks’ standup game is still developing, it does show potential. He’s shown good speed and agility in his striking with quick high kicks and superman punches. Furthermore, he’s capable of throwing stinging leg kicks and is equipped with a promising jab. While his natural skills have shown potential, Moks is still uncomfortable keeping the fight standing. He appears tentative about putting his combinations together (throwing 1 or 2 punches then getting out) and doesn’t react well to being pressured or hit. When the opposition begins pressing the action or opening up, Moks immediately looks to take the fight to the mat – even if that requires pulling guard. Moks does appear stationary or flat footed at times, and will need to focus on his defense as well as his footwork. He also has a tendency to sit inside his opponent’s range too often (likely due to his reach), and will need to get better at gauging distance.

OUTLOOK
Rafal Moks shows natural talent throughout his game. As a middleweight, Moks is a little undersized and may need to drop a weight class going forward. He’ll also need to familiarize himself with the standup while he continues developing his ground game. With time and experience Moks is a potential top twenty fighter down the road.
