Patricky Freire is a talented Brazilian prospect. The brother of Bellator standout Patricio Freire, Patricky has spent time at various Brazilian camps including BTT, Kioto and Team Noguiera. Freire has enjoyed a promising start to his MMA career, even though he took nearly three years off between 2007 and 2010 as he recovered from a serious knee injury. Early in his career Freire has earned a reputation for offensive style of fighting. Nicknamed “Pitbull”, Freire is an ultra aggressive competitor who keeps opponents on their heels by pushing a very high pace. He has a fantastic killer instinct showing strong flow to his game, seamlessly transitioning between his grappling and striking.

Freire shows strong grappling potential. He’s a capable takedown artist from in close/the clinch and a very proficient grappler on the mat. A BJJ black belt, Freire is technically astute fighting on the ground. He shows excellent positional awareness, beautiful control from the top, and a tight, dangerous submission game from all positions. Freire is very active off his back, and works a potentially brutal ground and pound game from the top that features nasty foot stomps, and big punches. He transitions excellently between his ground and pound and submission attempts, and although his wrestling has yet to be fully proven, holds exciting potential as a grappler.

Patricky is a dangerous, ultra aggressive striker. He possesses quick reactions as well as excellent speed and power to his kicking and punching. He throws a neat left hook – straight right combination, and effectively works his head movement, sways and leans to keep from getting hit. Strong in the clinch, Freire works quality knees to the head or body from in close. He’s armed with an excellent counter left hook and the ability to explode up the middle with quick flying knees. Freire is very aggressive in his approach and always need to be on alert for the counter, but his overall standup holds superb upside.
