ANALYSIS
Nick Osipczak made a name for himself during his time on "The Ultimate Fighter 9", where his tremendous heart, exciting fighting style, and raw natural skills helped earn him a UFC contract just fifteen months into his professional fighting career. An intelligent fighter currently training out of Team Rough House, Osipczak only recently began training full-time for a career in mixed martial arts -making his rapid progression in the sport all the more impressive.

Osipczak has shown he has the ability to get the fight to the ground with good trips, takedowns and sweeps (watch his bout with Brendan Flannagan below to watch him execute a beautiful trip takedown) where he displays a technical grappling game. Extremely composed on the ground, Osipczak looks to improve positions, showing good transitions and sweeps off his back, and displays a solid, active submission game. Still learning the intricacies of the ground game, Osipczak will need to work on improving his ground control - specifically maintaining better top position and learning to better control his opponents off his back, as opponents in the past have been able to easily posture up from inside Osipczak's guard and land some effective ground and pound. Osipczak will also need to continue working on his wrestling and takedown defense as his "TUF" bout with Damarques Johnson showed, when Osipczak was taken down at will and controlled on the ground. However, Osipczak has progressed at a very quick pace and did look much more comfortable and refined with his grappling in his second bout in the UFC against Matt Riddle.

A well rounded fighter, Osipczak is just as willing to battle on his feet where he shows excellent instincts, remaining calm, cool and collected and is very hard to rattle. Osipczak is an effective counter striker with good kicking boxing skills, including solid kicks (leg, body and head), a good right cross, and respectable power having hurt both Frank Lester and Damarques Johnson in their respective fights, as well as knocking out Mark Miller during his "TUF" stay with a head kick. Tremendously resilient, Oisipczak has shown he is willing to stand and trade on the feet, continuing to press forward and has been very hard to put away even when he's been hurt (see bouts with Johnson and Miller). Like much of his MMA game, Osipzcak's overall striking is still a work in progress and he will need to continue working on his defense and technical skills, and as a tall, long welterweight will also need to learn how to make better use of his reach and range. However, very early in his career Osipczak exhibits a tremendous learning curve and should only get better.
OUTLOOK
Nick Osipczak is still far from a finished product, but just over a year into his career already finds himself competing in the biggest MMA organization in the world. Although he's displayed well rounded skills, Osipzak has not stood out any in one area and he will need to continue working on his conditioning and strength in addition to working on the technical aspects of his all-round game. He's tremendously resilient, and his toughness and heart are unquestionable. Given his age, learning curve and relative inexperience, with the right training camp Osipczak has top fifteen potential in the welterweight division.
