ANALYSIS
Myles Jury is a very promising welterweight prospect who’s competed for King of the Cage. Known as a finisher, Jury ended the first seven fights of his pro career inside the first round, with four of those occurring within a minute. Having taken to MMA at a very early age, Jury began his mixed martial arts training at thirteen, had his first amateur fight at fifteen, first pro fight at sixteen and went a very respectable 9-1 before making the decision to go pro. He’s been very mature throughout the process, progressing steadily while taking a patient approach with his development. Jury is very dedicated to his sport and training, while also understanding the importance of not rushing through things at his early age. An “MMA fighter”, Jury comes armed with a variety of backgrounds including high school wrestling, BJJ and tae kwon do.
Patient and composed, Jury establishes distance well and shows good movement and footwork. Like much of his game, Jury takes a very technical approach towards his standup training, where he displays good instincts and quick reactions. Jury possesses a good kicking game, throwing heavy low kicks, body kicks, nice high kicks and a quick front switch kick. A strong counter puncher, Jury throws an impressive straight right counter and possesses solid power in his fists. He’s also capable of delivering quick knees from in close, which combined with his solid takedown defense makes for a dangerous combination in the clinch area.
Jury possesses wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu backgrounds as a grappler. Early in his career he’s shown killer instinct on the ground, pouncing on opponents with a heavy ground and pound assault from top position. Jury hits extremely hard and fast on the mat, utilizing a nice array of punches, hammer fists and elbows. If not controlled appropriately by his opponent, Jury’s proven capable of rearing back and raining in a very heavy attack. He has the ability to be “brutal” with his striking, and overall holds excellent potential in his ground and pound game. To get the fight to the ground, Jury makes use of a good array of takedowns from in close where he also displays stout takedown defense. Jury’s continued making steady strides in his BJJ/submission skills, and given his technical approach to his training holds considerable upside throughout his grappling game.

OUTLOOK
Myles Jury still has a lot to prove but he’s being very smart in handling his MMA career. He’s taken a very technical approach to his training, and paced himself well by not stepping into matches he isn’t equipped to handle early in his career. Taking into account his age, intelligence and the versatility he’s shown early on, Myles Jury certainly has potential as a top ten welterweight in the future.
