ANALYSIS
Part of the Linke Gold Team, Mariusz Abramiuk is one of many young Polish fighters that have come through the European circuit in recent years . Early on, the Szczecin native has chosen to hone his talent on the domestic scene scoring a notable win over Borys Mankowski in the process.
A sound grappler, Abramiuk makes a concerted effort to try and take the fight to the mat. Willing to pull guard in to achieve that, Abramiuk also shows competent takedowns from the clinch. Working off his back, Abramiuk attempts to make use of his sweeps and submission skills although he will need to learn to control his opponent better from the bottom. At times he’s shown susceptibility to active ground and pound fighters, but a resilient fighter Abramiuk doesn’t quit. From top position Abramiuk is a patient guard passer who displays a sound positional game. He utilizes an effective, controlled ground and pound game, being careful not to sacrifice position in order to land punches. Abramiuk also possesses a competent submission game, proving especially dangerous with his rear naked choke.
Standing, Abramiuk does tend to leave his chin exposed and will need to work on refining his defensive abilities and head movement. Although he will engage, Abramiuk has a tendency to get long with his punches and will need to continue putting work into his footwork and technical standup game.
