Luiz Nogueira is a luta livre stylist trained under Marcio “Cromado” Barbosa. A Shooto Brazil standout, Nogueira’s started his career off on the right foot and established himself as a top Brazilian bantamweight on the country’s domestic scene.

Nogueira is your typical aggressive, forward moving Brazilian striker. He’ll work his kicks to the body and legs, and throw big hooks, crosses, and overhand rights with his hands. Nogueira is usually the aggressor, and shows little hesitancy in going after his opposition standing. Often times he’ll lead with flying knees or superman punches, and isn’t shy about letting his hands go in the exchange. Although his chin has proven to be sturdy, Nogueira does tend to stay within his opponent’s range too long. He’s also prone to keeping his hands low and getting wild with his striking, and will need to shore up his defensive abilities.

Nogueira shows power in his takedowns, employing a relatively deep arsenal that includes slams and quick leg trips. He’s also displayed a quick sprawl, and good hips, overall proving to be a difficult competitor to get to the ground. Aggressive from top position, Nogueira attacks with leg locks, chokes, and a steady ground and pound attack. Nogueira will attempt to stand over his opponent trying to land big punches and hammerfists, and persistently work from side and back.
