Lee Beane was a star wrestler at Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School before taking up fighting. While there he would earn three Massachusetts State Wrestling Championships, two All-State honours, All-American status, and become a two-time New England Champion. A solid overall athlete, Beane also excelled in football and track, and eventually went on to wrestle at the Division I level with Brown University. Beane’s background has played a pivotal role in shaping his approach, as he looks to use his wrestling to take his opponent down. Deceptively quick, Beane has a nice entry shot and works well if he’s able to back his opponent into the cage where he can drop down for singles and doubles. Beane will attempt to pass guard while delivering a steady stream of punches from top positions (guard, mount, side). As a wrestler, Beane will need to focus on his jiu jitsu and submission abilities. He’s very lost off his back, where he can be controlled and submitted.

Beane is quite agile for his size, throwing quick kicks and knees from the clinch. Beane can finish with his punching and certainly possesses knockout power. At times however, he will get caught flat footed and his cardiovascular training is an issue. He’ll need to get better at gauging distance, and improve his technique as he proceeds in his MMA career.
