Training out of Santa Rosa, California and the Nor-Cal Fighting Alliance, Kyle Pimentel is an exciting welterweight prospect known for his ability to finish fights and his trademark blond mohawk. Originally entering the sport through his interest in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Pimentel is a hardworking fighter who's taken a very patient approach with his MMA career. He does hold notable TKO wins over Jason Von Flue and Olaf Alfonso, and if his early performances are an indication, he has a chance to develop into an entertaining welterweight for years to come.

Pimentel doesn't enter the sport with strong wrestling credentials, but he does work hard from in close to try and secure the takedown. Controlling his opponent well from the top, Pimentel's shown steady progress in his technical BJJ game while at the same time proving he can make effective use of his striking on the ground. Pimentel never lets up, proving capable of dealing a very persistent ground and pound attack featuring punches, hammer fists, and sharp elbows from all positions from the top (mount, side, back, inside guard). A competent BJJ stylist who's been sharpening his craft since 2002, Pimentel will attempt to improve his positions or pass and will look to take advantage of submission opportunities if they arise (including from the bottom), but he's also equally happy pounding away at his opponents' from the top.

An aggressive striker, Pimentel isn't shy about standing in the pocket and trading blows. He's equipped with a good right, respectable power and is adept at delivering powerful kicks to the body (see bout with Jason Von Flue). Flat footed at times, Pimentel is a little stiff on his feet and robotic with his movement, and will leave himself open to counters. Although his willingness to engage is certainly commendable, Pimentel will need to continue working on his technical skills and defensive standup game.
