ANALYSIS
Karlos Vemola is a fast rising European light heavyweight prospect and former CFC (Cage Fighters Championship) Heavyweight Champion. Although a native of the Czech Republic, Vemola trains out of London, England where he is part of the Spartan Gym and Team Titan camps. Vemola is a former bodybuilder and it shows in his physique, as he packs a ton of muscle onto his 6' frame and is an extremely strong and powerful fighter. Since entering the sport in 2008, Vemola has quickly earned a reputation for his aggressive fighting style and raw physical strength, and has gone on to win his first seven professional fights all via opening round stoppages including a submission win over respected Cypriot heavyweight Stav Economou.
A good way to describe Vemola's overall fighting style would be "relentless aggression." He comes out with the pedal to the metal, goes right at his opponents and pushes a very high pace right from the bell. His raw power is very apparent when watching him fight and he's an explosive athlete who comes from a strong amateur wrestling background (a six-time Czech Republic National Wrestling Champion). Vemola is capable of securing powerful takedowns and is very aggressive in looking to take the fight to the mat. On the ground he looks to impose his will on his opponents by delivering an unrelenting ground and pound attack, throwing heavy punches from any and all angles. While he has been impressive, Vemola will need to work considerably on refining his technical skills. Thus far he's been able to overwhelm all of his opponents he's fought because from a physical standpoint they've simply been out of his league - Vemola has just been too strong, and too fast. While his athleticism and speed-strength potential is very promising it will need the technical proficiency to support it. His game has been all about brute strength thus far but against the better heavyweights in the world, most are going to be at least on par with him in terms of strength and overall grappling and almost all will be far better technically. He has an excellent set of natural tools at his disposal but how far he can go in the division will come down to whether he will have the technique to make the most of his raw talent.
Much like on the ground Vemola's standup game is all power, all the time. He not afraid of getting at his opponents and will usually bull-rush them right off the bell looking to land big bombs. Vemola does have heavy hands (see bout with Bill Georgitsis ) and when taking into account his natural strength and speed does have good standup potential. Technically he will need to continue refining his striking however. Often times he'll simply drop his head and start throwing wild haymakers, and while that hasn't cost him yet he has not faced anything close to world class competition. While his power, speed and aggression are all excellent, Vemola will need to learn to harness those attributes to become a dangerous overall fighter on his feet.

OUTLOOK
In Karlos Vemola's short career he's shown that he is a good athlete whose raw talent is very good but still unrefined. Although Vemola will definitely need to shore up the technical points in his striking and ground games (BJJ, submissions etc) it should be noted that he has looked dominant through his first seven professional bouts and is still less than two years into his pro career. His next few fights should be very telling of what the future has in store for him in the heavyweight division, but if he is able to continue developing his skill set does have a chance to be a top ten light heavyweight in the future.
