Fighting out of Duneland Vale Tudo, Josh Shockley is an up and coming mixed martial artist competing in the lightweight division. Shockley has shown good potential in both his striking and ground games early in his fighting career.

At 6'2" tall, Shockley is extremely tall and lengthy and comes equipped with very good reach for the lightweight division. Although he remains very raw overall , Shockley does make good use of his jab and uses his reach to his advantage. He mixes up his punches and kicks and isn't shy about letting his strikes go, and does come equipped with a nice right high kicks and respectable power. At times Shockley will drop his hands when he's throwing punches and will need to continue working on polishing off his technique standing. Although he's still green, Shockley still has a ton of maturing to do both mentally and physically, as well it should be noted that the development in his standup technique is far from complete.

Shockley might not show elite level wrestling abilities, but he does come from a wrestling background and is capable of taking the fight to the mat. He's armed with nice slams, double legs and effective takedowns overall. Shockley displays good control from the top where he utilizes an aggressive ground and pound game. Not strictly a "top" grappler, Shockley's also very comfortable fighting off his back and is willing to pull guard if he sees fit or to try and capitalize on a submission opportunity. He also shows good submission defense, and displays a patient, active guard game with his very long limbs making him especially dangerous with armbars, submissions and sweeps. Shockley will need to work on his conditioning as he has a tendency to tire as the fight goes on, but his overall ground game is developing quite nicely. He shows decent potential as he is able to seamlessly transitions between his standup and ground game, and between his submissions, ground and pound and striking.
