Josh Rosaaen is a an American welterweight prospect training out of Dynamic Martial Arts. Competing on the regional circuit, Rosaaen has scored notable victories over Chad Reiner and Victor Moreno as well as capturing The Cage Inc. Middleweight Championship. Known for his hard nosed approach and submission abilities, Rosaaen has had a successful start to his career entering the sport with an “MMA” background.

Rosaaen is a strong welterweight whose shown promising potential in his ground game. He had earned his BJJ blue belt as of the summer of 2010 and does display solid instincts on the mat. Rosaaen actively tries to improve his positioning in addition to showing steadily improving submission skills. Fighting from top position, Rosaaen looks to utilize an aggressive ground and pound game. He throws powerful punches from the top, is adept at creating positional opportunities using his fists, and does have promising potential as a ground and pound artist. Rosaaen does not come from a wrestling background and will need to work on his guard game. He is a constant worker who’s active with his submission attempts, although he will need to focus on his positioning and getting better at controlling his opponent off his back.

Rosaaen will work both his kicks and punches on his feet. Composed, he looks to utilize his jab-cross combination and working his kicks to the head and body. Rosaaen isn’t a known for his “explosiveness” or agility and will really need to focus on his footwork and movement. While slow and stiff at times, Rosaaen is also a very tough fighter. He competes with a lot of heart, doesn’t quit, digs deep when required and is capable of taking a punch. Defensively, Rosaaen will need to focus on his technique as he tends to be quite stationary.
