ANALYSIS
Jonas Billstein is a promising light heavyweight prospect training out of Germany. He got a very early introduction to mixed martial arts and went on to make his debut just months after turning eighteen. Although he's still young and very untested, Billstein has shown potential in his wrestling abilities. He shows good balance in stuffing takedowns, and works hard from in close trying to take his opponent to the ground. Physically, Billstein is quite strong for his age and capable of powering opponents to the mat with impressive slams, nice belly to belly suplexes and effective body lock takedowns. He does a good job of controlling his opponent from the top where he works an aggressive ground and pound attack from all positions. Billstein makes good uses of his fists and throws powerful knees from side control. Not surprisingly, Billstein's technical skills are still green and he relies heavily on his top game and ground and pound abilities. Billstein will need to continue working on his guard passing and overall jiu jitsu game.
Billstein shows good raw potential, but is still very green on his feet. He throws a nice roundhouse kick and isn't shy about letting his hands go, but his technical skills will require continued focus. Billstein has shown respectable power and hand speed early in his career, and the tools are there for him to develop into a competent striker (at the very least) in the future.

OUTLOOK
Jonas Billstein is a long term prospect in the light heavyweight division. He still has a ways to go, and will need to continue maturing both physically and in his technical proficiency. Billstein has however shown impressive power early in his career, and there still a tremendous amount of time for further growth. He'll need to be careful not to put too much mileage on his body at an early age, but Billstein definitely has the potential to develop into a top ten light heavyweight.
