Jon Tuck is an athletic lightweight prospect hailing from Guam. He’s demonstrated well rounded abilities early in his career and holds intriguing long-term potential in his striking, submission and wrestling abilities.

As a striker, Tuck displays excellent speed and precision in his standup. “Explosive” would be an apt term to describe Tuck who possesses a beautiful jab, strong leg kicks and the ability to finish in highlight reel fashion. Tuck is blessed with excellent punching power including a powerful right hand, and delivers impressive flying knees right up the middle. Tuck’s shown he can throw big knees from in close and is capable of finishing in an instant as he showed in his brutal eight second knockout of touted Filipino prospect Eduard Folayang.

Tuck shows good takedown defense and exciting potential in his takedown game. He’s proven to be particularly effective from in close where he’s shown a variety of beautiful throws and takedowns (including a very nice hip toss) during the early parts of his MMA and grappling career. His BJJ has also continued developing at a steady rate and he has shown good awareness in his submission abilities and positional skills. Like many young grapplers, Tuck will need to work on his guard play although he is making a very serious attempt at improving his BJJ in the best way possible. Focusing on his pure jiu jitsu game, Tuck went on to capture a Gold Medal in the first ever Abu Dhabi World Professional BJJ Openweight Tournament in addition to a second place finish in the 78kg division – both in the blue belt division.
