Training out of Albuquerque, New Mexico as part of the FIT-NHB Fight Team, Joe Coca is a rising bantamweight prospect and former King of the Cage title contender. Wrestling in high school for one year, Coca cut his wrestling career short and began training for mixed martial arts at the age of sixteen. Prior to competing he kept his skills sharp by testing himself in amateur boxing bouts and grappling tournaments (a multiple times Grappler Quest Champion,) before he entered the cage for his first professional fight shortly after his eighteenth birthday. Although Coca has enjoyed a successful start to his career, he also works and continues going to school on a full time basis in addition to keeping up with his MMA training.

Coca's equipped with a strong, active submission game that has served him well in his early career. Defensively, he'll need to improve his awareness and do better at avoiding danger zones and finding himself in precarious spots on the ground. He is however very tough, never quits and works hard at attempting to free himself from those situations. Coca does have one year of high school wrestling under his belt but will need to continue working on his takedowns and takedown defense. Although he is talented, he remains very green and will need to continue working on developing his technique and gaining experience. This was very evident in his King of the Cage Bantamweight Title match against Abel Cullum, whom thoroughly outclassed the lesser experienced, and very raw Coca.
