Hamid Corassani is a Swedish prospect making the rounds on the European MMA circuit. After beginning his MMA training at the age of twenty two, Corassani has gone on to spend times with top camps like Chute Boxe, Xtreme Couture and with Eddie Bravo, and secured notable victories over Euro veterans Ivan Buchinger and Peter Mettler.

As a striker, Corassani prefers to use his hands and is a former South Swedish Boxing Champion. He shows versatility in alternating between a southpaw and orthodox stance. Corassani works his jab and will press forward looking to engage. He prefers to set the pace of the bout, taking the center of the cage and controlling the tempo of the fight. Armed with a nice overhand and straight right, Corassani is a tough competitor recognized for his determination. Although he isn’t known as a power puncher, Corassani does have a tendency to swing for the fences - evidenced by the numerous times he’s broken his hand over his career.

Corassani has won several domestic grappling titles competing in Sweden, but nothing of major significance on the international stage. With a father and uncle that were respected wrestlers back in Azerbajdzjan, Corassani does have experience in the wrestling department although he wouldn’t be considered a standout. He possesses a competent takedown arsenal including a nice single leg, and good awareness on the mat. Corassani works well from the top where he shows promising ground and pound potential, posturing up and landing good straight punches from inside his opponents guard. He does a nice job of striking to both the head and body and shows competency in his submission abilities. Corassani is a more effective grappler from top position and will need to work on his sprawl and guard game.
