ANALYSIS
Daniel Puder is well known to both hardcore and casual MMA observers due to his professional wrestling stints - and most notably his time spent with the WWE. What isn't as well known is the fact that Puder has been training in MMA since the age of sixteen and has already spent time with some of the top camps and trainers in the sport including the American Kickboxing Academy, and The CSW Training Center where he currently trains under the tutelage of Eric Paulson.
Puder is a good athlete with decent wrestling and takedown abilities who will try and take the fight to the ground. On the ground, Puder is a good "top" grappler who can unload with a strong ground and pound attack from top position - raining in a steady diet of punches (see bout with Michael Alden below). Not strictly a ground and pound artist, Puder also has a good understanding of submissions and displays good all-around potential in his grappling game. Puder has spent time training working with AKA in the past and displays an aggressive striking game and developing technical skills. At times he will get wild with his punching and kicking but the raw potential is there, and if he were to focus hard on his standup skills - his athletic abilities and willingness to engage on the feet would likely translate into a competent striking game. While Puder has looked pretty impressive when he's fought, he's yet to face anyone who could really give a good indication of where Puder's game is at and his overall skill level is very unknown.
The biggest thing Puder really has going for him is the name recognition and the resources necessary to concentrate 100% on his fight career if he chooses to, as a lot of fighters that are earlier in their careers and/or competing in smaller organizations aren't afforded the same luxury that Puder is. Despite that, Puder has had an on-again, off-again career as a pro wrestler which has resulted in long periods of inactivity throughout his MMA career. Puder also has different business ventures, works for several charitable organizations and has had political aspirations in the pasts, and it's not known how dedicated he is to his long term MMA career.

OUTLOOK
Daniel Puder is a talented fighter, a good athlete and he's shown potential when he's fought. The problem is he has not fought very frequently and he's never given the impression that he will focus completely on his MMA career. If Puder committed himself he'd have a chance to develop into a good heavyweight, but given his track record it's questionable whether we will get to see that happen.
