ANALYSIS
Training out of the state of Texas under Team Dog Pound, Chris Bell is a fast rising mixed martial artist currently competing in the middleweight division. Skilled in multiple areas of the sport, Bell is a gifted athlete who's shown potential in his striking, wrestling and submissions early in his career (hence the nickname "Triple Threat") to go along with his aggressive style and killer instinct. While he remains a little green in his overall game, Bell is a considerably talented athlete who's shown the capacity to mature into a multi-faceted, versatile fighter given the proper training and time to develop.
On his feet Bell shows considerable potential in his striking although his overall standup game is still quite green. An excellent athlete, Bell is blessed with fast hands and significant punching power and he's proven to be a very aggressive fighter who's constantly pressing the action on his feet. Bell can deliver quick kicks - including a dangerous left kick and will make use of his leg kicks also. Not afraid to exchange, Bell is very comfortable standing in the pocket and trading and will walk right through punches to land his own. He has a tendency to keep his hands low, chin up, and get wild and loopy with his punches (lots of "arm punches" and wild haymakers) leaving himself very open to counters so Bell will need to continue working on his defensive abilities and striking technique. Although Bell can take a punch and does possess a good chin, he'd get picked apart by the better strikers in the division and will need to get past using his raw, unrefined athletic striking abilities which he relies heavily on now.
An aggressive fighter, Bell likes to get right after his opponents working hard to push them against the cage and work his takedown attempts. A naturally powerful athlete, Bell effortlessly lifts opponents into the air and slams them to the mat, and has also proven very strong at manoeuvring them from top position once on the ground. He will need to get better at setting up his shots as he shown a tendency to dive in with his head up, but Bell's raw power and overall takedown potential is very exciting. On the ground Bell stays very tight to his opponents' from top position where he displays a patient but very active ground game. He is constantly pressing the action with his ground and pound and gives his opponents very little room to breathe from the top. Bell has a relentless ground attack and has shown he can deliver quick and powerful punches, hammer fists, and elbows to his downed foe. He is very difficult to contain from bottom position, and he holds excellent ground and pound potential given his ability to be overwhelming from the top. Bell will look to pass guard and improve positions when he gets a chance to, and overall he displays a composed, patient and methodical top game while also exhibiting tremendous ground control. Bell has displayed improving BJJ skills including good guard passing skills and the ability to defend against submission attempts, while also making a conscious effort to look for submission opportunities offensively. Largely attributable to the fact that he is so aggressive, Bell can be taken down and will need to continue working on his guard skills. His power is very evident as he's able to use his strength to muscle out of tight spots on the ground, but in the past his guard has been passed and he's been put in trouble on the ground.

OUTLOOK
Chris Bell has shows promise in a number of areas of his game and has the potential to develop into a well rounded middleweight. Bell's raw striking and wrestling abilities are encouraging and his top game on the ground holds exciting potential. He will need to continue working on refining his technique, but with the right camp Bell has a chance to flourish in this sport, and is very capable of becoming a top twenty middleweight.
