ANALYSIS
A former contestant on the ninth season of "The Ultimate Fighter", Che Mills is a British welterweight prospect currently training out of Mark Weir's Range Fighting Gym. He's a product and former welterweight champion of England's Cage Rage promotion, and impressively holds two stoppage victories (KO/TKO) over DREAM's Welterweight Grand Prix Champion Marius Zaromskis.

With good footwork, nice hands and snapping leg kicks, an effective clinch and considerable knockout power, Mills is definitely most dangerous when he's able to keep the fight standing. He possesses a good chin and is not afraid to stand and trade, and has stood toe to toe with dangerous Lithuanian striker and DREAM's Welterweight Champion Marius Zaromskis twice in his career already. He knocked out Zaromskis with a single knee to the head in their first meeting, and his overall standup abilities need to be respected any time he steps into the ring. He's an aggressive striker who presses the action and stalks his opponents around the ring, and is a long welterweight with good reach, an effective jab, and a good right cross. Mills makes good use of his kicks and has very quick left and right kicks that he can throw with equal precision to the head, legs or body of opponents. Mills is good in the clinch with digging knees to the body and head, and overall possesses a very diverse striking repertoire on his feet. Defensively he is not untouchable with his striking, does have a tendency to drop his hands when he's punching and can be hit. He'll need to continue working on his head movement and technical skills, but as Mills' career progressed his standup has gotten visibly more refined and given his age there is still room for improvement.

Mills has worked very hard at bettering his takedown defense and although it has improved significantly as he's moved forward in his career (see the difference between his first and second fight with Zaromskis) he can still be taken down and put on his back. He possesses powerful ground and pound skills when he gets top position, where he is able to release a relentless barrage of punches from the top. One of the most impressive aspects of Mills' game is that he remains calm and composed in spite of whatever position he may find himself in. He has the wherewithal to look for armbars and triangles when he finds himself on the receiving end of an effective ground and pound attack, and has displayed some impressive work fighting out of precarious positions in the past (see his beautiful sweep from side control in first fight with Zaromskis below). Mills has good transitions and sweeps - especially off his back (see first round of bout with Edgelson Lua), and does have to potential to develop into a competent guard player with further work. Mills has very long limbs and is great at searching for submission from all positions (triangles, armbars, guillotines etc), but he will need to work tightening up his technical skills as he has difficulty finishing. One of areas of Mills' game that really needs to work is his ground control. He gets his guard passed and gives up mount relatively easily (See bout with Lua, Zaromskis) and really needs to work on maintaining his positions and controlling his opponents better. It's somewhat frustrating watching Mills fight on the ground because he'll look very good and then so bad at different times within the same fight. With his ground game where it's at now he's quite susceptible against strong grapplers, and it's no surprise that those have been the fighters he's lost to in his career.
OUTLOOK
Che Mills has shown he's a talented welterweight fighter who boasts a dangerous striking game and already holds victories over some respectable fighters in his career. A competent striker no doubt, Mills' future potential however lies in what level he'll get his ground game to. He's not a top wrestler and can be put on his back, and although he has shown some impressive work fighting on the mat his overall ground game has been fairly inconsistent. He'll need work but Mills has top fifteen potential at welterweight.
