Bislan Isaev is Chechen middleweight and veteran of Pro FC. He comes from a pankration background, and has proven to be a strong athlete whose natural strength and power is prevalent throughout his MMA game.

Quick and strong, Isaev possesses excellent raw potential in his wrestling game. He's shown quick hips, a nice sprawl, and over the course of his career he's continued to make steady progress in his overall takedown defense (see bouts with Ishkhan Zakaryan and Sultan Mutalimov). What's more, he's proven very capable of taking his opponents to the ground with strong takedowns and big slams. Isaev transitions well between his takedown attempts, and in addition to the regular double and single legs, he's shown he has excellent balance and can reverse his opponents to the mat off their failed takedown attempts. On the mat, Isaev is an aggressive fighter who displays very good top game abilities. He's quick and agile, moves around very nicely, and has proven very difficult to control given his quickness and ground and pound game. Isaev throws powerful punches with good speed from the top, makes effective use of his knees from side mount, and will work to pass and secure the crucifix nicely. To compliment his strong ground and pound potential, Isaev has also shown he'll try and take advantage of submission opportunities when they arise (strong guillotine), although his BJJ and submission games are still a work in progress. Isaev will need to pay particular attention to his guard game, as positionally he does give up side control and mount with almost no resistance. Although he does show excellent composure throughout his game, Isaev will definitely need to put continued work into his guard game and BJJ skills.

Isaev is calm and composed on his feet. He's quick and aglile, and over the course of his career his footwork and movement has improved at a very steady rate. Isaev shows sound defensive skills, keeping his hands up and using his head movement nicely to slip punches. Isaev uses his kicks effectively and with frequency from the outside, proving capable of landing good, quick leg kicks, and nice high kicks. He's armed with nice hands, good natural hand speed and has shown the ability to land a good left hook and nice right cross. Isaev will work the head and body with his punching, and his raw striking potential is definitely encouraging. Still more comfortable taking the fight to the ground, Isaev will need to continue working on his striking in order to add versatility to his game.
