Antun Racic is a promising Croatian featherweight prospect. Beginning his martial arts training with Judo at the age of five, Racic would eventually earn his black belt before turning to MMA at the age of fifteen. Since then he’s become a close training partner of highly regarded Croatian veteran Maro Perak at Millenium Top Team, and enjoyed a promising start to his pro fighting career.

Coming to the sport as a black belt judo player, Racic is a strong grappler who captured a Gold Medal at the 2010 FILA Junior No-Gi Grappling Championships (70kg). As a judoka, Racic prefers to work his takedowns from in closed where he’s equipped with good throws and a nice double leg. Racic has a strong top game, showing good poise and control of his opponent. He works his striking well on the mat showing he’s capable of loading up, and letting his hands go very quickly from top position. Racic is also quite strong for his weight division, forcing weaker opponent into giving up positions to gain the upper hand on the ground. Showing good submission awareness and steadily improving technique, Racic relies on powerful chokes and good armbars. Although Racic does show good balance and quickness, he can be put on his back and will need to continue working on his guard as well as his takedown defense.

Standing, Racic shows quick reactions and good hand speed. Technical and patient in his approach, Racic throws a quick left hook and a nice overhand right/right cross. As a fighter who comes from a grappling background, Racic will need to continue working on his standup game as he moves forward in his career.
