Anthony Leone is a Team Bombsquad bantamweight who's competed for the WEC. A former high school wrestler, Leone trained with BJ Penn for eleven months as a twenty year old before making the decision to commit himself to the sport. Hardworking and driven, Leone strives to be the absolute best in his weight class and is a former XCFL Bantamweight Champion.

A former high school wrestler, Leone does show competent MMA wrestling abilities. He possesses a good double leg and a nice sprawl, as well as the ability to land more impressive takedowns and slams (see his beautiful fireman's carry against Matsuda). Leone shows good composure on the mat where he works to pass and improve positioning. If his posture isn't properly controlled, Leone becomes very difficult to control and can open up with a strong ground and pound assault. He can let his hands go very quickly from top position and makes nice use of short elbows from inside his opponents' guard. Although his BJJ game has continued to develop it is still green, and Leone will need to continue making strides in his guard and jiu jitsu skills.

A willing striker, Leone shows good hand speed and steadily improving technical proficiency. He works a probing jab, a nice right hand and a quick cross. The left hook-right cross combination is a favourite of his, and he also throws a nice counter right. Although Leone keeps from getting reckless on his feet, it doesn't take away from his aggressiveness he will let his hands go. Defensively while Leone is blessed with a sturdy chin, he does tend to keep his hands low and chin up. Leone will need to continue working on his head movement and defensive game.
