ANALYSIS
Aleksandar Radosavljevic is a Serbian Judoka training under Jovan Manojlovic at Car Dusan Silni. After his judo career ended, Radosavljevic began training in BJJ and kickboxing and has had a successful start to his career. Compiling a perfect 3-0 amateur record (and with all his wins coming in less than a minute), Radosavljevic was bestowed with the nickname “Serbian Fedor”.
Radosavljevic is a former Serbian National Judo Team member who enters the sport a respected judoka from his home country. Competing in Serbia, Radosavljevic’s credentials include winning several domestic submission wrestling championships, as well placing in numerous junior and senior Serbian judo tournaments. His background plays an integral role in his takedown game, where Radosavljevic shows good trips, throws, and overall takedowns from the clinch and in close. Radosavljevic shows promise in his top game, displaying good control, staying tight to his opponent, and moving well between positions. He also shows excellent ground and pound potential, proving capable of rearing back and launching an offensive onslaught on the mat. Radosavljevic rains in a heavy, persistent barrage of punches with his reach aiding in landing punches from multiple positions on the mat (guard, side, back). Once he’s postured up, Radosavljevic’s ground and pound game is very difficult to defend against. Although Radosavljevic isn’t an elite guard player, he does fight with composure and has demonstrated a good sprawl. Off his back, Radosavljevic is adept at getting off the ground and back to his fight while also showing good defensive awareness.
In spite of his judo background, Radosavljevic is not averse to standing. He’s a very comfortable striker (see bout with Antoni Chmielewski) who actually favours the standup aspect of MMA. Moving well for his size, Radosavljevic is skilled at finding an effective range to strike from. Demonstrating good movement and defensive recognition, Radosavljevic is quite good at leaning back/swaying away from his opponents’ punches. He shows good hands including a crisp jab, a good left hook and nice straight right counter. He utilizes his reach well and although he does rely primarily on his boxing, Radosavljevic also throws low kicks and high kicks with good agility. Radosavljevic is a patient striker but he doesn’t hesitate in letting his hands go when he catches an opening. Radosavljevic will need to work on not leaving himself open to counters, but his striking game appears to be developing nicely.
