ANALYSIS
Before making his name known on the “Ultimate Fighter” reality series, Wilkinson had earned the reputation of a tough competitor on the British circuit. Stylistically an offensive fighter, Wilkinson has the mentality of a true competitor and always give 100 percent.
Wilkinson is an underrated wrestler who’s capable of taking his opponent to the ground. He works effectively from top position where he makes use of a persistent, accurate attack of punches and elbows. He also incorporates a good array of front chokes from the top, including a particularly dangerous guillotine. Although his top-game offensive attack is promising, technically Wilkinson is still coming together with his BJJ and defensive grappling skills remaining a work in progress. Wilkinson is prone to being put on the ground and is very susceptible off his back. His submission defense and guard will require particular attention, as will his technical skills on a whole.
Although Wilkinson is not known for his hand speed or punching power, he is a tough, rugged striker who isn’t shy about letting his hands go. He utilizes his jab, cross and leg kicks from the outside, and his knees and elbows well against the cage. Wilkinson throws a good straight right counter, and shows no hesitation with standing in the pocket and trading. While Wilkinson’s approach is certainly commendable, he will need to tighten up his technique. He tends to retreat in a straight line, leaving his chin up and exposed when letting his hands go. Wilkinson will need to work on his head movement and shore up his overall defensive game.

OUTLOOK
Aaron Wilkinson showed promise during his time on “TUF” 12. He showed potential in his offensive game, both standing and on the ground, but also showed that he was lacking in technique. Still young and developing, Wilkinson does possess top twenty five potential.
