STRENGTHS

Kennedy is a powerful middleweight who possesses fantastic size and strength at 185 pounds. He’s a very experienced amateur fighter (with over 30 fights to his name), who’s known for his cardio and conditioning. Disciplined and committed to his training, Kennedy was simultaneously serving full time in the US Army while fighting at a high level professionally. He’s a very quick starter who immediately goes after his opponent, constantly pushing and wearing them down. A strong MMA wrestler, Kennedy is relentless in his takedown attempts (especially against the cage) showing powerful slams and a nice double leg. Kennedy controls his opponent very well from top position where he looks to unload a heavy ground and pound attack that consists of powerful punches and big hammer fists. He shows promise in his power submission game – especially with chokes, and is a naturally hard hitting striker with KO punching power.

Kennedy’s striking is still a work in progress, as his footwork, defense and technical skills continue to develop. He’s much better fighting from top, and not nearly as effective fighting off his back.
