STRENGTHS
Hawn’s an accomplished judoka (former Olympian, multiple time US and Pan-Am medalist) who has a very strong clinch game. From in close he shows impressive throws, works good leg trips and is armed with a lightning quick Seoi Nage takedown. His judo base is a good deterrent in keeping opponents away from his clinch, and Hawn does utilize his striking well from the outside. He’s also shown fantastic balance, strong takedown defense, and the willingness to keep the fight standing. Heavy handed and aggressive in his approach, Hawn’s armed with a quick, snapping jab and a nice counter left hook. He throws powerful low kicks, quick high kicks, and overall shows good fluidity on his feet for a grappler. Hawn possesses good head movement and excellent reactions. He mixes it up with his striking, and backs his kicks with punches when putting together combinations. If Hawn has his opponent hurt he shows no hesitancy in going for the kill, and he can open up with an explosive ground and pound barrage from top position.
